Rosalia (2027)

A Novel

It is August 2018.  Mia has broken with her family.  Jumped out the window of her bedroom to escape the violence consuming her new home.  But she has no where to go. Now she's living on the street.

It is April 1880, Rose has defied her family.  Climbed out the window of her bedroom, escaped through her mother's garden in the middle of the night, and run to the seaside to find someone she barely knows, for help.

Rosalia is a story about two women, one descended from the other, living over 100 years apart, who begin a parallel journey. Neither of them may survive.  Until time begins to blur and opens up a path for Mia into the world of Rosalia, her great, great, grandmother.

Order Now

One night, she just tranced.

Mia was cold and too tired to sit in the back seat any longer.  Tired of feeling cramped. She needed to get behind the wheel and put the key in the ignition.

"It's a beautiful night for a ride," she thought.

A beautiful night to wander in the tunnel of darkness she so often felt comfortable in, then. All she had to do was drive.

The canyons were so close.  Just around the bend, practically.    All there was to do was let go.  Find the overlook without any guardrails, facing North Hollywood, and just keep going until the car rolled over the side.  It could be so easy.  It was so inviting. She could do it.    No one would even notice.
